 Quality Care with Quality Education

Welcome to Precious Pearls Preschool/daycare. My name is Renu Singh and I have taught preschoolers for 4 years at one of the best private preschools of the bay area. I have a Masters degree in Child Development. My day care is licensed therefore meets all state stipulated safety norms.

This is my fourth year of running my preschool.  My little graduates are all doing really well, academically and socially, in Dublin and Pleasanton schools.  Most of my graduates can read simple books, can do mental math, count money, tell time, and know why camels live in a dessert and not the Tundras.  My aim is to create curious minds who want to explore how and why nature works the way it does.

I welcome children from 3 years to 5 years (fully potty trained). I provide safe, supportive and fun learning environment to children. Children will enjoy fun activities like arts & crafts, puzzles, reading, and role-playing among many other things. I plan fun phonics and math activities for kids. I believe children learn best through play and practical exploration.

I offer morning and afternoon preschool programs. My aim is to offer age appropriate learning to the young creative minds.  I offer a snack to the children which generally include fruits/vegetables and crackers.

Math: Children learn sequencing, patterning, addition, subtraction, money, space, time, measurement, and many such concepts through various manipulatives.

Phonics: Phonics refers to a method for teaching speakers of English to read and write that language. Phonics involves teaching how to connect the sounds of spoken English with letters or groups of letters and teaching them to blend the sounds of letters.  My worksheets help children learn letter formation, sound recognition, blending and many such important skills to be successful in kindergarten.

Art: Friedrich Froebel, the father of kindergarten, believed that young children should be involved in both making their own art and enjoying the art of others. I have observed in my four years of teaching that children feel a great sense of emotional satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment when they create art.  My curriculum is designed to teach art through step by step instructions (at least twice a week) so that the children feel confident in their ability to draw and express themselves. Children will get enough opportunity to do free art.

Science: There is a science theme for each month. We learn simple scientific concepts through exploration.  We ask questions, do experiments, act out situations, and read fun books.

See if you can answer this:  Why do clouds form up to a certain height in our atmosphere and not above that?

A typical day at Precious Pearls would begin by learning social interaction skills, understanding time/day orientation, learning incremental math, developing reading skills, honing scientific reasoning ability, playing pretend, doing art through different mediums, and spending time in the reading corner
